Our dispositions can be changed through the Holy Ghost. We have to rely on the Lord to develop humilIty, and we must be honest about our need for His help as we submit to His will.

As a spouse, we want to do everything in our power to help our spouses recover from pornography use. We may try to control our spouses’ behavior, or we may find ourselves in the role of the enforcer. However, this is not a healthy role for us to take. Our spouse is the only person who can change his or her behavior. We can’t carry the weight of someone’s agency. We can encourage and support, but we can’t control our spouse’s behavior. It’s important for spouse to take care of their own recovery and then to heal the marriage together.
