I’m in the process of revising the entire home teaching program. I’ve divide the ward into 29 different geographic boundaries or areas (I like to call them quadrants). I could subdivide it even further… but it comes to average of about 10 households per quadrant.
I’m at the stage where I will need the bishop’s approval to assign each quadrant to a specific member, but I would like that each member pick a quadrant of their preference to preside over. They are now responsible of visiting each of those families.
I would also like each member to have the freedom to pick the companion of their choice to perform the home teaching rather than be assigned to a specific partner.
I will also accommodate that those who wish to continue visiting or hometeaching a family that they’ve been visiting for years to continue to do so but under the permission of the member who presides for that quadrant.
I can follow up to inform how this works… I’m hoping everyone will be on board with this suggestion.
Awesome! I’m excited to hear your results.
