Have you noticed there are 25% more elders in Sacrament meeting than in your quorum meeting? Or does everyone in ward council look bored? Why doesn’t your secretary take initiative anymore?
This video may reveal a hidden “germ” you haven’t considered and you’re not going to like it.
This is your intervention. I am here to tell you that YOU ARE the problem–YOU ARE the germ.
Germs Are Hard to See
Nobody means to micromanage, create boring meeting, or take over at every sign of distress. Even those around you being impacted by your leadership germs may not realize the impact your actions have. You want to make sure things get done right and nobody drops the ball. This is a valid desire which is reason why many leaders don’t realize they are the germ–they think they are doing right by actions. If they could see the negative impact they are having they would change.
Now, I don’t want to generalize the problem because there are probably many leaders that really don’t contribute to the problem. However, if the mistake is under your watch, no matter who really caused it, own it. There is nothing more Christ-like than owning mistakes that you didn’t create.
