Summit Presenter

Leading Saints is in the process of sponsoring and hosting the largest virtual summit focused on the topic of teaching in church. You are receiving this email because we would like you to participate in this summit by sharing some of your life knowledge and experience that has made you an effective teacher.
VIDEO: The Church has provided some incredible resources that instruct on how to prepare and teach by the Spirit, how to focus on pure doctrine, and how to help learners take responsibility for their learning; however, there is still much to be learned in the realm of the skill of teaching. For example, many LDS teacher struggle to know how to develop meaningful questions or how to engage a class when little participating is happening. The lack of teaching skills can be immense with many teachers, but we hope to give them a new resource through an upcoming virtual summit called Teaching Saints.
For those of you that don’t know what a virtual summit is, think of the last conference you attending. It was probably at a convention center with many classrooms and different speakers that offered their knowledge around a specific topic. Virtual summits are just like this but it is all online. No travel, hotels, or walking down endless hallways of a convention center. All sessions and classes, including yours if you agree to participate, will be made available to the LDS public during the days of the summit. Those that want to view the summit after it has ended can purchase all videos, transcripts, and mp3’s for an affordable price. All proceeds go to covering the cost of producing this summit.

To help you further understand how you might play a role in this summit, here is a list of frequently asked questions we get from potential presenters:

What is a virtual summit?

A virtual summit is a conference that doesn’t require the attendees to leave their home. Since this summit is targeted at an international English speaking making it available online gives access to more teachers. All attendees will be able to stream the conference from their comfort of their home internet connection.

When is the Teaching Saints Virtual Summit?

We haven’t yet set a date for the The Teaching Saints Virtual Summit. We hope to get most of our interviews recorded and ready before we announce a date. It will most likely be scheduled in the next 3-6 months.

How will the presentations be recorded?

If you live along the Wasatch Front, Kurt Francom will be happy to come to you and handle all the technicalities. If you are a good distance away we will record the interview via the Zoom webinar software. All that is required is a computer microphone and camera. If these items are not available to you we can arrange some to be sent to you.

Keep in mind that this is video recorded so look your best! 🙂
