What Does An Addict Look Like?
Do people really know what addiction looks like?
It goes beyond the typical street corner stereotype, often hidden in plain sight. Many succumb to its grasp, from friends and family to church members, we see in our ward. As church leaders, we have a sacred duty to create a safe haven for those struggling with addiction–a place for empathy and compassion.
Meet Evan Hathaway–a pillar of his congregation, bishop, husband, and father. Until a devastating surgery changed everything. Evan fought a silent battle with addiction, too ashamed to reach out. His despair took him to rock bottom until he found something unexpected: a powerful connection to Jesus Christ which changed his life forever.
Now is the time to challenge stereotypes and for leaders to become a beacon of support for those in need. It begins with education and understanding, this is what the Recovering Saints Virtual Conference offers.
We have assembled a diverse group of addiction experts, doctors, therapists, law enforcement officers, and courageous individuals in recovery who are eager to share their stories and insights. Our aim is to demonstrate that through the gospel of Jesus Christ, recovery and redemption are not only attainable but transformative. By the conference’s end, you will possess the confidence to reach out to those silently suffering, guiding them toward a path of healing and a brighter future.
Don’t miss this invaluable opportunity to learn and grow as a church leader.
Join us, free of charge, as we work together to make a positive impact in our community and extend a helping hand to those who need it most.
